How To Prevent Getting Yeast Infections

Although having a yeast infection is no too dangerous to your health, the symptoms that come along with the infection are not too pleasant. In fact, many women report them as annoyances and seek treatment. As with any sort of infection, prevention is the best cure you can find. There are a few things you can do in your own life to help prevent getting a yeast infection and dealing with the nasty symptoms.

Practicing good hygiene is imperative to protecting yourself from having a yeast infection. Be sure to wash your vagina area often. This will not only keep it smelling fresh, but will also clear out any unbalanced pH where the infection can grow. Also while doing this the second part of getting it right is drying your vaginal area properly. Yeast thrives in wet, warm environments. If you wash this sensitive area, but forget to dry you are creating an area of moisture that is naturally warm. This will cause a yeast infection to occur.

Picking the right clothing can make all the difference. By dressing with the right underwear, or going commando you can drastically lower your risk of a yeast infection. We recommend choosing silk or cotton panties because of their natural absorption quality. When you go with synthetic fabrics or nylon these tend to hold moisture to the skin. This will create a great environment for the infection to grow.
