When you have acne all your pimples may look alike. However, there are many different types and its important to know what you have so that you can get a treatment that specifically cures the type that you have. Whiteheads are very common and remain just below the skin. They are very small and white in color. Blackheads are tinted black and very visible from the surface of the skin. Contrary to popular belief the blackheads are created due to dirt.
Papules are found on the surface of the skin. They take on a bumpy shape and are usually very small and pink colored. Pastules on the other hand are red and are pus filled at the top. These are found on the surface of the skin as well. Nobules, found in the same area, are larger and more solid pimples. These are the painful ones that get embedded deep into the skin.
Lastly, we have cysts. You can see these on the surface of the face and will feel pain from them as well. Cysts are typically filled with pus and are more likely to causes left over acne scars on the skin. Now that you have a better understanding on what you are truly looking at when you see acne you can now identify a treatment plan that will cure the types of acne that you currently have.
