When you get hives there are a few key identifiers to help you know for sure what type of skin infection they are. Typical skin infections will have warning signs that will tell you which infection you have. When you see slightly raised pink or red welts on the skin you know you have hives. If these occur in large groups or multiple groups connect together over a large portion of your skin they are hives. These will typically last for about a day before they alleviate from the skin’s surface. You will feel very itchy where the welts occur. They can hurt and sting.
Some people that develop hives due to the same trigger will notice the infection contained to one region of their body. This is called fixed hives by dermatologists. Basically, every single time you are exposed to the trigger you break out in hives at the same spot on your body. This can be due to medication or simply getting too much sun exposure. These are typically easier to identify what causes them. As you know that why you get exposed to that certain something your skin breaks out. So for treatment you simply avoid the trigger of your hives and you are in the clear.
